Making mini Aquaman's trident - Tiny weapon

Odd Tinkering
Odd Tinkering
This week I wanted to make Aquaman's weapon, the trident of neptune from the new Aquaman movie. Instead of the real deal I made a tiny weapon. I liked the movie and I this seemed like an interesting, yet feasible challenge. I would like to cast it in full size but that would need lots and lots of brass and currently I don't have room to store 2 meter tall trident. It's not my usual project but I learned a ton and I think it's important to constantly try and learn new things. I took a 2x20 mm flat bar of brass to get the right color. I had never carved anything like this so I was experimenting a little. My only previous take on carving with dremel is my second kiridashi, the one with the wavy pattern. I first made a pattern and printed out a pettern with some large reference images. I then cut out the pattern and glued it on the brass. I took a permanent marker and drew the edges on because I was sure the paper will come off at some point and the I would still have the black drawn edge left. I cut out the rough shape with dremel (and one of those bendy thingys) I used a heavy duty disk and a fiber glass disk. I also used regular angle grinder when there was enough room for accurate work. This was mainly because angle grinder was much faster. After shaping the two dimensional shape I took 4 sizes of barrel shaped Diamond-Chinesium burrs which worked great for this project. I used those burrs on the dremel to carve the 3D shape based on my reference images. After shaping the trident I took metal polish compound with a wool polishing burr and polished the tiny weapon to mirror shine. After this I shill wanted to add some of the arrow patterns the trident has in the movie. I used the top edge of one of the medium sized diamond burrs for the job. I thought it would be more practical to polish the trident before this so I would be able to see what I was carving, now the tiny scratches were easy to see. Remember, the whole trident is less than 2 cm wide although it seems gigantic due to my tiny hands. The "scratchy" look of my carving didn't of course fit well with the polished surface so I re-polished those areas making sure I didn't rub off my carvings. Now the surface looked much better. I even enchanted the trident with some of the powers the larger one also has. But because the trident is so small also the powers were very limited ;) Thanks for watching my video (and reading all the way). If you liked my video. Please subscribe for more. I also appreciate all feedback so leave a comment bellow. And if you happen to know Jason Momoa, please share this to him! Oh and the first scene is a reference to one of Bobby Dukes videos, If you have not seen he's work you should check his channel out. He's extremely funny person and a talented artist.
