Woodturning: Volcanic Decay!

Thank you all so much for watching! This is my 25th filmed project, and it was my first ever epoxy resin casting! The star of this video is the black cherry burl that I harvested from a standing dead and rotten stump, and although the wood was dry it was also rotten and filled with voids. So I feel like it was the perfect candidate for my first ever resin casting! Now, I am not going to pretend the final finish is amazing. At the time I made this piece, I did not have a legit buffing system, and I also had a deadline by which I needed to complete the project. Hopefully, there will be many more resin projects. Personally, I want to use resin sparingly and keep wood as "pure" as possible. But there are lots of hybrid-style projects I have in mind in addition to the 100% wood projects.
